Project goals and tasks
Our team, in collaboration with the “Obriy Design Buro”, had the task of showcasing this work online and ‘documenting’ stories, real-life episodes, and events, as well as providing information about training sessions, exhibitions, artists, activities, and the work of consortium ‘Dorijka’s across various fields where civilian help is needed.

Consortium “Dorijka” is implementing projects in 14 regions of Ukraine to contribute to the mitigation of the impact of the conflict. They focus on multi-sectoral activities in health, protection, shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene, multipurpose cash assistance, nutrition and delivery of humanitarian assistance.
The challenge here was the animations we implemented on the homepage, specifically the block with an interactive map of Ukraine.

This map contains stories and video episodes that “trace the paths of the region”, the paths of those who remain, and share their personal stories of the war, which has become a part of their reality.
As a result of synchronised collaboration with designers from “Obriy Design Buro”, who created the map file, our developers at Homin implemented the task of displaying the map on the website and integrated the map into the website. The map can highlight different areas and users can click on them based on the content.
What about the tech stack?
For easy content management and efficient operation of the online documentary, we chose the CMS WordPress.
We ensured multilingual functionality on the website: Ukrainian, English, and French.
Regarding third-party systems, we integrated the Mailchimp e-mail system for newsletters with the latest updates from the consortium.
What does this mean for people?
When we talk about life in a country during war, we focus on the fate of its civilian population. In the online documentary by the “Dorijka” consortium, we have documented the stories of Ukrainians, their paths, needs, and the real-life experiences they face. We also highlight the support and solidarity provided by humanitarian workers in extraordinary situations. We hope such web documentary wouldn’t require the addition of new stories.
